On offer is a charming, cheery, intimate long ALS dated 1963, handwritten on both sides, by Bob Crosby (1913-1993) American Dixieland bandleader and vocalist, best known for his group Crosby and the Bob-Cats. [He was also an entrepenuer as evidenced by the business letterhead for his car rental business in Honolulu.] His brother was Bing Crosby. He writes to "Babs & Bunny" [Mrs. and Captain Burton H. Shupper, Commanding Officer of the USS Providence]. Crosby writes that he leaves Dec. 26 for Las Vegas. "Have to go to hell so I can afford to live in paradise" [Hawaii]. Crosby is planning a trip to Japan when the USS Providence is there. About booking the Bob-Cats / will guarantee a golf game for you, probably with VADM Moorer, but without fail with me and my Padre, who knocks the ball a country mile."
