1957 US Navy Correspondence About Naval Reserve Officer’s Deficient Request

On offer is a US Navy internal document regarding an officer’s transfer and posting. The document, dated in 1957, concerns a Lieutenant (JG) Charles M. Davis. Davis served in the United States Naval Reserve. The letter is written by the Commandant of the US Navy’s Sixth District to the Commanding Officer of the US Navy Reserve unit based in Atlanta GA. It concerns the request for a billet or assignment. The letter clearly outlines how the Commanding Officer’s request is deficient in a number of ways.
