Reads in part: "In your last letter you desired me to write soon but owing to the confusion & labour of Lucinas packing and leaving us I have thus delayed. L. left here one week ago today for Logansport Ind. since then I have been cleaning and putting things in order in the house. Today have completed the chambers. Have cleaned parlor, hall and sitting room and done something in other rooms. I concluded not to order a tub of sugar knowing of no way to get it here unless to send it by express.
