The text reads:

Jules Simon (1814–1896) was a French philosopher, politician, and advocate of liberal republicanism during the 19th century. He served as Minister of Education and briefly as Prime Minister of France under the Third Republic. Known for his support of secular education, civil liberties, and moderate reform, Simon was a key figure in shaping modern French republican ideals. He remained active as a senator and intellectual until his death.
The text is written in a different hand and ink from the signature.
This fragment is mounted on an aged card bearing a truncated list of names in a third hand, without context. The overall piece is 5-⅜ x 2-⅞ inches. The note is paper - with some creasing, ink bleed, and minor tears - mounted on a card showing age toning together. Condition is Good.
