Pair of Cut Signatures of Charlottetown, PEI Born Canadian Presbytarian Minister and Lieutenant Colonel John Pringle
12405On offer are two undated signatures of Canadian Reverend and Lt. Col. John Pringle (1852-1935) .
Pringle was a Presbyterian minister who preached in Canada, the United States, and Bermuda.
He was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and studied in Prince Edward Island, Ontario and Quebec. Ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1878, Rev. Pringle ministered in Ontario, Manitoba, and Minnesota (U.S.A.). In 1898, he was called to the Yukon where he served for a decade. He went to Sydney, Nova Scotia, in 1908; he served as an overseas chaplain during World War I, becoming a Lieutenant-Colonel. He was Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in 1919. He continued mission and church work, including in Bermuda and in relief camps in northern Ontario.
These age-toned items measure 3 x 1-½ inches and 4 x 2-¼ inches and are in Good condition.
