On offer is a friendly typed and signed letter of reply from Lt. Colonel Herbert Fairlie Wood of Ottawa to Colonel C.B. Lindsey of Toronto. Dated 22 July 1963, Wood mentions his book Forgotten Canadians (1963), and thanks Lindsey for his assistance with it. He also proceeds to write of some lighthearted topics of personal interest, and posits a visit to Toronto in the near future.

Lt.-Col. Herbert Fairlie Wood was a soldier,  author, military historian and former  commanding officer of 3 Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLl).
