1882 One Cent Canada Post Postcard Written and Initialed by Author James MacPherson Le Moine
12424On offer is a Canada Post postcard addressed to J. D. Dent Esq. of Toronto from J. M. Le Moine. Postmarked JY 17 82, card reads:
Dear Sir,
I have mailed a second copy of “Picturesque Quebec” to your new address as indicated in your letter to me - the last I had addressed to 14 Gerrard Street West Toronto.

Sir James MacPherson Le Moine (1825-1912) was a Canadian folklorist, historian, ornithologist, author and barrister. He was involved with the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec, helping in the development of their natural history museum, and later serving as president in 1871, 1879–1882, and 1902-1903.
The item measures 4-¾ x 3 inches in Very Good condition.
