On offer is an original, personal, manuscript journal and notebook handwritten by Edwin Bateman Morris a noted author and playwright in the early 20th century enjoying success writing for magazines such as the Ladies Home Journal and the Saturday Evening Post. A number of his stories were turned into movies including a Warner Brothers film titled "The Narrow Street" starring Dorothy Devore and Matt Moore. A photoplay novel by the same name was produced in 1924 illustrated with scenes from the movie. This journal is his personal book used to record thoughts, news clippings and quotes from magazines and other authors. Dating from 1904 through 1918 the subjects range from philosophy, education, religion, health, creation and government. The blank book, uniquely, and demonstrating the importance to Morris, is personalized in gilt with his name and a title: 'The Golden Road'.
