On offer is an original manuscript relic of Christian outreach being the Constitution, minutes and entries regarding the charity works of the Tenant's Harbor (Maine) Mission Band, organized in 1886. They contents of the 10 x 8 inch notebook include: the roll call which mentions Nellie Jackson (President), Rose Pillson (Vice President), Abbie Morton, Nannie Kalloch (Secretary), Fannie Sheerer, Carrie Wheeler (Treasurer), Fannie Hart, Anna Wall, Grace Davies, Frank McNeil, Hathir Bickmore, Fannie Long, Nellie Ludwig, Clara Song, George E. Allen, Jennie Robinson, Maggie Grover and others; the Constitution of the organization formally called "The Young Ladies Mission Band of Tenant's Harbor Maine"; it's objective or more rightly their 'Mission Statement' which would be to "develop an interest in the cause of Missions to gain information on missionary subjects and raise money for prosecuting missionary work". According to its minutes, the group spent time researching missionary work, sewing, making patchwork quilts (presumably to give to the less fortunate), praying, singing, talking, 'having an entertainment' etc. This was often done at someone's home. The entries, which continue for 12 pages, the latest date found is July 1887. This is an interesting book of paper Americana and a rather intimate look at Tenant's Harbor female social history. The marbelized soft cover have some wrinkling, the first page once stuck to the inside cover then separated to some loss, and then 11 more pages of text that is overall G.; 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall; MISSIONS, MISSIONARY, MISSIONARIES, CHRISTIAN, MAINE, TENTANTS HARBOR, GENDER STUDIES, WOMENS STUDIES, SUFFRAGE, TEMPERANCE, SOBRIETY, PORT CLYDE, HANDWRITTEN, MANUSCRIPT, DOCUMENT, LETTER, AUTOGRAPH, WRITER, HAND WRITTEN, DOCUMENTS, SIGNED, LETTERS, MANUSCRIPTS, HISTORICAL, HOLOGRAPH, WRITERS, AUTOGRAPHS, PERSONAL, PERSONAL HISTORY, DIARIES, JOURNALS, LOGS, MEMOIR, MEMORIAL DIARY, JOURNAL, LOG, BIOGRAPHY, MARYLAND, antiquité, contrat, vélin, document, manuscrit, papier Antike, Brief, Pergament, Dokument, Manuskript, Papier oggetto d'antiquariato, atto, velina, documento, manoscritto, carta antigüedad, hecho, vitela, documento, manuscrito, CHRISTIANITY, OUTREACHThomaston, Camden, Rockport, Rockland
