On offer is a super manuscript relic of English literature study and the state of one of England's premier universities. Professor J.R.R. Tolkein and others lecture and provide a detailed study of English literature at Oxford University in 1942 meticulously written by undergraduate student Mary Turner who does a superb job of keeping detailed notes in a loose-leaf folder with approximately 380 manuscript pages of lecture notes, essays, exam questions and translations of Anglo-Saxon texts. About 130 pages relate directly to Tolkien's lectures on Beowulf and other Anglo-Saxon works such as The Wanderer, Caedmon etc. We note at least seven direct references to Tolkien in lecture headings and the text, and one mention of 'The Hobbit'.
