1932 - 1933 ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT SCRAPBOOK AND DIARY OF A KENTUCKY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT DETAILING THE ROTC HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
1565On offer is a charming scrapbook and diary dated 1932 - 1933 by Ernest Brown Walker Jr. who lived in the Mayflower Apartments in Louisville, Kentucky. The Mayflower was located somewhere in the Willow Ave, Cherokee Park area. He graduated from Male High School in May of 1934 and kept this book during his junior year. He was in the Male HS ROTC and there are a number of interesting photos of him in his uniform. He was quite a social butterfly because there are a number of dance invitations from various girls. This book has 86 pages with something either written on them or glued to them. There are approximately 133 ephemeral items including post cards, dance cards, invitations, newspaper articles, pages filled with hand written diary notes, etc. and about 43 photographs. Ernest Brown Walker was the Grandson of Creel Brown and Great Grandson of J.T.S. Brown both rich and powerful Kentucky Whiskey Distillers. We list separately his later college scrapbook.
