On offer is a super original typed letter to noted bookseller Constance Spencer of San Francisco signed by Fanny Butcher Bokum [1888-1987] a writer for the Chicago Tribune newspaper. She at times held the following positions: social editor, club editor, assistant women's editor, special correspondent, assistant music critic, and literary editor. Among her close friends in the literary world were Edna Ferber, Willa Cather, Carl Sandburg, Sinclair Lewis, H.L. Mencken, Gertrude Stein, James Joyce, Billy Wilder and her favorite Ernest Hemingway.
