On offer is a typed letter signed from Lieutenant Colonel Gerald William Lingen Nicholson (1902-1980), dated April 16th, 1957, on letterhead of the  [Anglican Church] Diocese of Ottawa, The Synod Office, to The Editor, Globe and Mail, Toronto.

The letter concerns sending a review copy of the newly published book Faith of Our Fathers (1957) by Reverend Robert Jefferson and Leonard Johnson. Reverend Jefferson was, at the time, the Bishop of the Diocese of Ottawa. At the time of publication, the Diocese included the Deaneries of Arnprior, Carleton, Lanark, Pembroke, Prescott, Russell, and Stormont. 

Lt.-Col. G.W.L. Nicholson was a Canadian soldier, historian, author, and teacher. He was the Director of the Historical Section, Army Headquarters and is best known for his 1962 book Canadian Expeditionary Force, 1914-1919, the only official history of Canada's participation in World War I.

This item is a single page, previously folded, 7-¼  x 10 inches. There are small holes at the top left corner where a staple was removed. Very good condition.
