Original 1600s Logica Metaphisica et Theologia Naturalia
1461A superb 17th-century handwritten Latin manuscript book: "Logica Metaphisica et Theologia Naturalia" ex libris Chateau de Pointis.
The book is divided into three parts:
- Ad Universam Philosophiam
- Philosophia Trancendantalis Seu Metaphisica
- Theologia Naturalis
Stunning but flawed. The spine is missing three inches of the leather gilt ornamented cap and there is severe rubbing to the edges.
The book is illustrated with several flourishes in the 396 hand-numbered pages, including seven pages of manuscript index, seven full page engraved plates by Du Bois and C. Galle. The work of an unnamed scrivener, nice calligraphic hand throughout, the title page names one Geraldi Cavailher, who may have been the original author or indeed the scrivener though this is unlikely. Some spotting, some staining but overall G.
