12382On offer is an original section of a document signed "William R." by William IV (1765-1837), King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and King of Hanover from 26 June 1830 until his death in 1837.
William IV was known both as the 'Sailor King' and as 'Silly Billy'. The third son of George III, William succeeded his elder brother George IV, becoming the last king and penultimate monarch of Britain's House of Hanover.
This signature is on a piece of cut paper written in a different hand, measuring 7-5/8 x 4-1/4 inches. It demonstrates age toning, minor folds not affecting text, and minimal wear for age, appears to be the upper edge of a document. Date unknown. Condition is Good.
