Fascinating pair of handwritten documents. On January, 30 1774, de Fondeville writes from Marignac to Monsieur de Langentiere. Very detailed, very extensive 3 page letter discussing business dealings with Baron de Gaillac. On February 22, a mere 24 days later, de Fondeville re-writes the exact same letter to Madam de Langentiere with even more details, as he has learned of her husband's passing. One can assume Madam wrote de Fondeville explaining the circumstances. Written a mere 2 and a half months before the King's death ending the rule of one of France's worst kings and assuredly the beginning of the French Revolution due to Louis XV failure as a leader and his personal scandals.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall; KEYWORDS: HISTORY OF, FRANCE, MANUSCRIPT, HANDWRITTEN, KING OF FRANCE, LOUIS XV, HOLOGRAPH, ARCHIVE, DOCUMENT, LETTERS, AUTHOR, AUTOGRAPH ; Signed by Autograph
