On offer is an original 1775 folded map titled 'Cartes des Postes de France'. The map opens into a fullsize 25.5 x 25.5 inch map of France comprised of sixteen [16] panels. The panels have been glued to what appears to be linen. This was a craftsman item not something 'homemade' as evidenced by the quality work in cutting the panels and affixing to the canvas backing and the edging. It is easy to assume that this was made for travel because of its ease of use. From the lower right bottom edge: LE ST.
